Don't forget to come down and see me and Josiah playing a few songs at the Yellow Sofa in Northampton! Starts at 6pm sharp...it's a short gig so don't be late. Garrin Benfield, another talented Hampshire alum, plays after.

band practice tonight: new material in the works!

Hey everyone, Jesse here. I'm dropping ya'all a line to tell you three things:

-band is playing tonight at the Castle to work on some new stuff and get reacquainted.
-my web site is up...please respond to stuff here at jessesterlingharrison.com.
-you can also follow me on twitter now (yeah, I know...me?). Look for jessesharrison...

Lastly, we are talking about giving this band a real name. Tell you what: bring out the crazy band names you've kept in a trunk and post them as a comment on the blog at www.jessesterlingharrison.com. If we use your name, we will give you a bunch of free stuff, plus the adulation of many.

Have a good day,
Jesse

the ghost of rock to come!

Well, it's been a bit of a hiatus, but the band is practicing again! We had a hilarious semi-rehearsal on Monday that included Jonah attempting to make it from Maine in an Alfa Romeo, Josiah riding his bike about 60 miles to work (and then 20 to Jesse's house), and Peter having other obligations and being with us in spirit. We taste-tested some beer and ate that bachelor delicacy, peanut butter and jelly on leftover hot dog buns.

But we also realized we have a lot of good unrecorded or unheard material. We'll be starting to book shows again, so watch this space for coming events. During the summer, Jesse was busy getting married and spending time with his new enlarged family, but he also finished his first novel "The Prince with One Hundred Brothers." It's currently being kicked around by a small publisher, so who knows what'll happen?

Many updates to follow on writing and rock! Thanks for listening,

-Jesse and Band

new year, more rock

Hey everyone,
Here's an update about what's new with Jesse Sterling Harrison music! We're fresh from playing two sets at First Night Northampton...a well-attended show in a warm room with good sound. We were at the Elevens in downtown from 7 to 9, and it was a great gig even though it was early in the evening. We rolled out two new songs, "come right through" and "rise from your bed". Thanks to Lucy, Mom, Em, and all the new friends we met!

I am also looking to shoot a video this month, probably for the song "No Jerk Pill", so watch this space for information on that and upcoming shows. For those who don't have the new cd "take the demons out", it's available on cdbaby.com. Just go there and search for Jesse Sterling Harrison and the last three records will come right up. If you've already got them, log in to write a review and spread the word! In the meantime, here's a Peter Gabriel song I recorded while fooling around in the studio. Enjoy!

Love,
Jesse

Well, we had a great solo show at the Yellow Sofa in Northampton on Saturday night. The place filled up and I sold a pile of cds as I played a rare (these days) solo acoustic show. The venue was welcoming, the PA had reverb, and the espresso machine not too loud. Thanks to Mari, Courtney, Tana, the friends and family they brought and the new fans and friends who sat up front, clapped loudly and put a few dollars in the kitty. You guys rock! Definitely will look to come back to this cool intimate venue.

Stay tuned for more show dates to be announced! And don't forget to buy the new cd if you haven't yet...
